Licensed Mental Health Counselor serving clients in Washington and Florida State
I know from my own experience that creating the relationship you dream of is not as easy as the movies. It requires intention, commitment, the belief that things can get better, and a partner that wants to try with you.
It’s important for me to be real and honest with you because I am asking you to do the same with me. I’ll name where I fail as a therapist and as an individual in a relationship.
I’ll share how normal it is to struggle in your relationship because I know it firsthand. I’ll validate how you feel and explore what needs to change in order to build trust and commitment in your relationship.
Just like you, I am human too, and I want you to know that the things you are dealing with can be transformed into your dream relationship.

Becoming a Couples Therapist
My journey to becoming a couples therapist had a few detours along the way. I originally began my work serving children and adolescents in a community mental health setting back in 2016. At that time, I thought I would work with middle school and high school students for the rest of my career as I loved helping them develop their identities. Like many people, I found myself looking for the next opportunity to grow which led me to work for a group practice focused on supporting gifted individuals and I enjoyed that work too. In both of these settings and my education pursuit, I found myself seeking the chance to work with couples and understand what truly makes a relationship work.
After welcoming my first child at the end of 2019, I decided to take the risk of opening my own therapy practice with a focus on supporting couples. I opened my doors on February 1st, 2020, and then quickly moved to a virtual practice in March 2020 once the pandemic came into place. Since then, I have been seeing couples virtually and thoroughly enjoying the work I do.
I am a big believer in trial and error, sustainability, and creativity which I bring into my work with couples. While I am primarily a Gottman-focused couples therapist, I also enjoy infusing Imago Relationship Therapy techniques and narrative focuses into my work. My approach is to understand the stories, histories, and pains each couple brings into the work and develop a personalized plan to assist them toward the goals and desires they have for their relationship. Together, we create a sustainable and feasible approach to growing and changing your relationship so that you can grow old and grey together.
Aside from being a couples therapist and business owner, I am also a wife and mother. I met my husband 9 years ago and joke that I am stuck in Washington State after moving to Seattle to attend graduate school. I am a proud Hoosier at heart and miss the flat, corn-filled land of Indiana. My sweet and fierce toddler keeps me busy outside of work and I am learning the beauties and challenges of attending to the needs of my family, my marriage, and myself.
I am truly honored to do this work and grateful for the couples and individuals who let me into their lives to see all the pieces they bring and to have the opportunity to help them heal and become.
